(April 29, 2016 E.C) Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau and the Education and Training Quality Control Authority jointly held a discussion regarding the performance of the city-wide assessment of professional competence of teachers and school leaders.
The head of the Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau, Dr. Zelalem Mulatu, said that the evaluation will enable the government to better guide its activities by giving great attention to the quality and improvement of education. Dr. Zelalem also urged the relevant parties to pay attention to conduct the exam successfully.
Addis Ababa City Administration’s Education and Training Quality Control Authority General Manager Ato Dagawe Gebru said that the assessment not only enables teachers to improve their professional skills and recognition, but also enables teachers and educational leaders to teach and lead with sufficient psychology to ensure the quality of education. In order to make the evaluation process effective, the education management and the heads of the sub cities education office urged them to focus on the pre-evaluation explanations given to the examinees.
The assessment will be given to 18 thousand 591 teachers and educational leaders who have voluntarily registered on Thursday, May 1st, 2016 Ethiopian calendar at selected test stations.
