Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau in collaboration with Addis Ababa Early Childhood Development and Care Coordination Bureau held a discussion with investors and representatives of private schools that provide pre-primary education.
In the discussion, Dr. Tabor Gebremedhin, the coordinator of the program, discussed the status of the activities being carried out in the early childhood development and care program in Addis Ababa.
As the Early Childhood Development and Care Program is a program based on the holistic development of children, the Addis Ababa Education Bureau has been carrying out various activities in the past four years from providing training to teachers in government pre-primary schools. Students visited the Federal Police Office.
Students and teachers of 1st and 2nd secondary schools in the 11 sub-cities of Addis Ababa city visited the Federal Police Office.
During the visit, M/C Gen. Nabiyu Danne, who conveyed a welcome message to the students, explained that the police has many professional skills in the field and said that he has a professional responsibility to the extent of giving his life for the security of the country.
Students also said that it will help them to see the work of police and people working together and help their country in the police profession. The Federal Police Bureau promised to the students that they will visit the Police Training University in Sandafa.
On his part, Addis Ababa City Administration Education Office Head Mr. Sisay Zifal appreciated the fact that the Federal Police Office organized the visit for students and said that it will help students to highlight their role in the country’s peace and security and increase their patriotism.
During the visit, a documentary film showing the transformational activities of the Federal Police was presented, and the students were allowed to visit the command control and digital communication radio units, as well as the modern cars used for police activities.

A national day of gratitude and Thanks giving was celebrated.
The Ministry of Education, together with the Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau, Qen Ethiopia, the Government Communication Service, the Ministry of Peace and other sector offices, celebrated the annual National Thanks giving Day at the Millennium Hall with various programs.
State Minister of Education Phanta Mandefro (Dr.) stated that the ministry is working to make the next generation of the nation morally educated and value respect and admiration by including practical education in the curriculum as a part of regular education. He also mentioned the role that teachers play in determining the fate of the generation and the country and expressed their appreciation, gratitude and respect to teachers.
Dr. Tolosa Gudina, the founder of Kon Ethiopia Association, asked parents to advise their children of love, peace, hard work, patience, sincerity, gratitude and understanding, and to act as role models for their children. Students conveyed a message to be citizens who benefit themselves and their country by using technology properly and systematically.
The day of gratitude and surprise is celebrated every year in all regions and cities, administrations and schools.

It was announced that the new curriculum will be fully implemented in pre-primary and secondary schools in the 2016 school year.
This year, the curriculum has been implemented in selected pre-primary and secondary schools in Addis Ababa. Director of Curriculum Development and Implementation Directorate of Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau, Mr. Getachew Talema, said that during the trial implementation, the books were ready for publication by incorporating suggestions from teachers and other stakeholders and announced that preparatory work has been completed for full implementation in the 2016 academic year.
Ato Getachew added that based on the new curriculum, the curriculum prepared by the Ministry of Education in English was translated into Amharic, and considering the current situation of the city, it was prepared for the students from 1st to 6th grade in 2016. .

It was announced that the new curriculum implemented in the Afan Oromo language this year will be fully implemented in the 2016 school year.
Robi Wami, director of the Afan Oromo Curriculum Development and Implementation Directorate of the Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau, said that the curriculum has been implemented on a trial basis for selected pre-primary and 9th and 10th grade students who learn Afan Oromo as their mother tongue in Addis Ababa. He announced that the textbooks have been prepared for publication by including the ideas given and that the preparatory work has already been completed for full implementation in the academic year of 2016.
The director added that based on the new curriculum, the Barnoota safuu prepared by the Ministry of Education in English language has been translated into Afan Oromo language and has been prepared for the students from 1st to 6th grade in 2016. They explained that it was done.
